Anne Fortier

This is my first year teaching at NUAMES and I am excited about being back in the classroom. My husband and I moved from Maryland 2 years ago where I left my high school biology teaching job. Prior to that i was a research scientist and director for preclinical development at a small biotech company. I received my Ph.D. in microbiology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

The suburbs of Washington is where my husband and I raised our 2 children both grown, one in Denver the other in Idaho. I love skiing, hiking, and bike riding.

I will be teaching biology and environmental science here at NUAMES on B days and I also teach Intro to Microbiology at Weber State on Monday evenings. My teaching philosophy is to guide student inquiry to promote student ownership of learning.
